In 1979, the height of the punk rock era, behavioral scientists at the University of Maryland conducted a six week study on how certain music triggers parts of the brain associated with psychosis and violence. Instead of searching for a connection between violent lyrics and real life violence like many others who feared for the budding generation, they focused more on subconscious factors such as tones and frequencies. After hours of tireless work, their efforts payed off. Scientifically speaking, they had created the most rage-inducing song known to mankind. The professors decided to test it on their unruly students, many of them part of the punk craze. They played the music quietly through the air vents in the students’ living quarters while they slept. The symptoms were different for everyone but all similar to common illnesses such as migraine headaches and irritability, but a storm was brewing. The sick students were confined to one large room to keep it from spreading. The professors moved the tapes to the air vents towards that room. Considering how far away the room was, they increased the volume. Blurred vision turned to terrifying hallucinations and irritability turned to gruesome violence. Tensions rose until all of the sudden, everybody snapped simultaneously. The dorm tenants heard screaming and rushed upstairs to find students clawing each other’s eyes in hopes of stopping these hallucinations. Whether it was by suicide or murder, not one person in that room made it out alive. The following is the track that caused it all. Listen at your own risk.

Seriously though, I think Hussie’s setting this up so that nobody will be getting along by the time they finally meet up.
- Jake is frustrated with Dirk.
- Dirk in turn is probably pretty frustrated with Jake’s lack of communication on this shit.
- Jane is apparently isolated from everyone but Jake? (interested in knowing more about that one) And then Jake’s going to contact her with EVEN MORE LOVE WOES when she probably still has that lingering crush on him and that’s got to be annoying.
- Where is Roxy? I DON’T KNOW. But apparently not with Jane, Dirk, or Jake.
- Jade and Davesprite broke up. Who knows what’s that done to their relationship over the last year.
- John is moody and getting on everyone’s nerves and isolating himself from the group.
- Karkat is lonely and mad (mostly at himself) and probably going to find out about the whole Terezi/Gamzee thing which certainly isn’t going to help matters.
- It’s entirely possible that Terezi/Dave and Kanaya/Rose will have broken up or at least be going through a rough patch.
- And they’ve all been in too close of quarters with too many emotionally underdeveloped and poorly socialized teenagers for way too long.
And then with all this mutual animosity and annoyance and depression and uncertainty and general sense of I DON’T WANT TO TALK TO YOU RIGHT NOW going on, they have to take on like four damned-near invincible villains.
Yeah, this is gonna be grand.
Isn’t it almost a little odd that a huge, complicated conflict is being built up for everyone? So many negative, unresolved feelings… maybe a little bit of Rage?
Do you guys remember what the Bard class is defined as? Someone who allows destruction through their aspect.
Just like the aspect of Blood doesn’t literally mean blood, Rage could mean something like… negative, destructive emotions.

I’m not going to sugarcoat this; You guys better click that link and REBLOG IT, I’m serious. Don’t complain about how bad it’s doing right now or much you want it to do well or how much you want a sequel if youre not willing to help Dreamworks spread it and promote it when they’re TRYING to work with us!
I’ve been in the Megamind fandom for TWO YEARS and have watched it crumble from top of the box office for the first 2 weeks and 3 planned sequels, more shorts, and a cartoon series to ZILCH NOTHING NADDA GONE DREAMWORKS STOPPED GIVING A SHIT THE CHARACTERS ARE BASICALLY DEAD. I have stood here and tried DESPERATELY with other fans to get Dreamworks to care about Megamind and it’s a terrible thing to go through when you love something and believe in it as much as I do. We didn’t GET a warning and we had the truth hidden from us for months, believing for at least half a year that there was a sequel in the works. We acted way too late when our numbers were shrinking and the hype was over. I am telling you ROTG fans from another Dreamworks fandom that has been burned VERY BADLY to GET OUT THERE AND GET LOUD before it’s too late. Dreamworks doesn’t give two shits about DVD and iTunes sales, even if the Megamind DVD did way better than they expected (as I’ve been told from within DWA), they still left it to die. YOU HAVE ONLY NOW TO MAKE THIS WORK. I AM WARNING YOU. DREAMWORKS DOES NOT CARE BEYOND BOX OFFICE SALES. THERE IS NO SUGAR COATING THIS. PANIC TIME IS NOW.
This is TUMBLR, we are the people who vote-bomb FOX and CNN when they’re homophobes, we’re the ones who signal boost injured animals and kids who need donations and get them well over their donation request amount. WE ARE NOT POWERLESS, you guys. But you HAVE to act. If you want this, ACT LIKE IT. Tell everyone. Take friends to see it. Write to the local newspapers and newstations and ask them to talk about it because it deserves the recognition. Call your radio stations. Ask your favorite bloggers to post about it. Ask celebrities to tweet about it. Get together with the local ROTG fans and work together! DO NOT WAIT. YOU DO NOT HAVE TIME.
If you want ROTG to do well, we gotta work together and help Dreamworks out because they have the advertising skills of a wet rock and rely way too much on word-of-mouth. If you don’t do this, it will be shit like Afro Circus all over again for the next however many years and the poor artists at DWA will have to put up with drawing/animating that shit for another 3+ years because the general people are telling them that THAT is what they want to see from them.
I believe in you, Tumblr. Please don’t let what happened to the Megamind franchise happen to Rise of the Guardians. PLEASE.
This is an important post.
Having been in the Megamind fandom, I remember how heart breaking it was to have such a loving, close, creative fandom, but no love for the movie outside of it. We’ve got to get more people going to this movie; we’ve got to get family, friends, classmates, anybody to go see this film (repeat viewings won’t hurt either). Anything to help get this film the finances and drive to make more of this. Not only Guardians sequels, but other quality films by this studio. DreamWorks has made a huge step up by making this film and it needs all the recognition and support it deserves. So please, spread this post and spread the word.
The Guardians need to be believed in…
[I did this and so should you~. Honestly, I have never loved a movie so much, been so excited over a movie, and so involved in anything in my whole life. And I have had a lot of fandoms I was obsessed over. This movie is amazing. From the story telling to the beautifully detailed animation, it is gold. And it literally pains me to see them not doing so well. But like the person stated above their advertising SUCKS. I mean did you see the tv spot trailers? THEY WERE HORRIBLE. They were barely long enough and told nothing about the characters or plot. I mean all I remember seeing from them was the elves. It’s simple, if you weren’t following it closely online you wouldn’t know much about it. Not to mention it picked the WORSE premiere date here in the US.
I hate to see this movie not make the money it deserves because crap advertising. I don’t even care about a sequel! I just want it to get what it rightfully deserves! It’s beautiful art. It’s beyond quality. And it’s complete crap madagascar has done better than Rise of the Guardians. As an artist and inspiring to go into animation, this hits really close to home. Cause Rise of the Guardians is the kind of movies I want to make and be a part of and work on. It’s the kind of movies I want to see out there. The kind of movie that can make you cry, laugh and feel like a child again. That inspires and touches so close to the heart. That gives you just those overwhelming feels. Not Afro Circus shit. This is completely terrible and it saddens me a lot.]
